Background Info
History: Shanks never knew his parents. They were murdered by bandits when he was born. A bandit woman could not kill Shanks, when she found him laying in his small wooden bed. She decided to take care of him and rise him by herself. The bandit leader was not happy with her decision, since he ment that she was only weak, because she was not able to kill the child.
Shanks had a hard time when he was a child. He was bullied by the other childrens, since they knew the story about his life. They saw Shanks as an outsider. Shanks did not really care much about them. He was able to handle a fight if it was necessary, but sometimes he had to walk home all beaten up, because he had to fight against fight other children. The bandit woman, that used to take care of Shanks during the time Shanks was born untill he became five years old, got murdered when she tried to steal from a shopkeeper in a village. She always used to tell Shanks, that she might not come back, but Shanks as a five years old child knew that she was putting her life at risk all the time for the sake of him. They needed food and money, and the only solution was to steal it.
During the time after the bandit womans death, Shanks was all on his own. He had money enough to keep him alive for another five years, since the bandit woman had saved a lot money for him, since she knew that one day she might not come back to him. Shanks used the money on food, but he never filled his stomach, since he knew that one day he would run out of money. Shanks decided to leave his house when he was around seven years old. He moved out from the village and made himself a small hut a few kilometers away in the forest, near a lake.
Shanks was enjoying his life. Surviving in the forest was tough, but he was able to fish in the lake, and hunt in the forest. Even during the winter he had sold meat to the village and bought himself useful equipments to make his living easier.
