I proved this over a year ago that the Byakugan could easily handle the 3 tomoe sharingan and can hold it's own against the MS (relative to that day and age the thread was made)

This is my view as well.

People are so focused on the flash and flare of the Sharingan, they underestimate or plain ignore the substance of the Byakugan and it's wide array of abilities. Close-Medium combat against a Byakugan user is near suicide, and an Uchihas' Katons aren't getting through Kaiten.

Yeah but one may still be more effective than the other if everything was equal.
