Where did you get the idea that Kaguya had the Byakugan before eating the fruit?

I'm actually stating the opposite. She had normal eyes until she consumed the fruit. My point is that the Byakugan are just human eyes enhanced with chakra.

Sharingan is a severely watered-down Juubi eye. While effective, it needs to evolve to the Mangekyou Sharingan to really compare to the Byakugan. But even then, the Mangekyou Sharingan still only has half the power of the Rinnegan.
