True power lies in the eyes of the beholder. What is this about? This is a theory/discussion thread around the power of the Byakugan and how it seems to have retained its original power throughout the course of time. Compared to the Rinnegan and Sharingan which both weaken over the course of generations. Power shall wither away with time. There are three Eye Techniques/Abilities that which we know if the Narutoverse, yet we don't have a whole lot of information on neither of them and the one we have the most on is the Sharingan. Now the three that we know of are the following:
Kaguya passed her Eye Powers down into her sons, one obtained the powerful Rinnegan and the other obtained the Byakugan. This means that the origins of the Rinnegan lies within the Sharingan which Kaguya obtained from the Shinju. The Rinnegan later devolved into the normal Sharingan which we all know when Hagoromo had kids of his own. However what happen to Hamura and the Byakugan, we don't know. The only thing which we know of these eyes are that they still exist within the Hyuuga clan. We've seen with our own eyes that the original Sharingan has been weaken greatly over time, from the one Kaguya held, to Hagoromo's Sharingan and then to Indra's Sharingan. But what of Kaguya's original power, the Byakugan? Over the course of time, it never withered in power as far as we've seen. (Seeing how Kaguya haven't used the Byakugan any more advanced than Hinata or Neji.) Does this mean that the Byakugan was never really powerful, or does it mean that the Byakugan holds power which we have yet to see? A power that can rival the Eternal Mangekyou Sharingan perhaps? Is it simply a eye with good vision, or does it serve another purpose? I believe that the ones that awaken the true power of the Byakugan will be able to do great things, and the only ones which are able to awaken this power are the members of the main branch in the Hyuuga, namely Hinata Hyuuga. In most mythologies, the all seeing eye or the third eye is commonly placed in the forehead where Kaguya's Sharingan sits. However, what if Kishimoto based the Byakugan of this idea? A eye which can see everything, a eye which cannot be blinded, a eye which cannot be close with darkness, the Byakugan. |
