I know that I am still relatively new to this stuff

I see . watch some basic tutorials on sigs it will help improving

Nice attempt, here is some feedback:

• the colors are monotone, I think you overdid it on the gradient maps
• never place the text in the corners, you want it to be somewhere close to the render
• the BG lookd like a regular screensaver on older PCs, if you can't find a fitting BG for the render makes one yourself. An easy way to do it, is to use the smudge tool
  You must be registered for see links
• a bit of blending makes the sig looks much better, an easy way to add blending is to use the soft eraser and softly erase around the edges

Its pretty good but its very simple try more advanced sigs to do.

It is actually a good try. Alittle simple, but cool. Needs a light source and a better BG. Also never place texts in the corners, it ruins the whole mood and steals the focus point. Go to deviantart and search for the "Rule of Thirds" - that should help you with the text and focus point.

The rule of thirds has a double edge, because some renders are just not fit for it, like the one I used in my signature.

I am not saying that it is the perfect help, but it helps alot. It helped me, so from personal experience I am trying to help the author of the thread too.

So do I by telling the author that you should be cautious when using the rule of thirds ^^ I am not against it nor did I said that is wan't a goog piece of advice, but I have seen some people messing up their sig because they think that the rule of thirds should always be followed.
