Early in the series it was implied that Oro's desire to learn every jutsu in the world could be accomplished largely through simple research and practice. But once I realized his actual plan was to get an Uchicha body and unlock Rinnegan by combining sharingan with Senju DNA from the cells he cultivated from Hashirama..... I had newfound respect for him.

At this point it is difficult to consider him a potential FV, but his story certainly has more to it.

I think oro's genius is severely underestimated. He had an uzumaki, uchiha, a sage/natural energy absorbing mutant, and he had kimimaro(who is related to kaguya on some level). He also devised the cursed seal which is based on natural energy thru Juugo's power.

Seems to me that oro def had all the breadcrumbs to try and get the ultimate power which is the power of the SO6P. Through sasuke, he wouldve gained rinnegan and thru his research on karin and juugo, he wouldve made the perfect body to house the rinnegan and learned how to absorb natural energy (cursed seal).

Basically, he was the closest to obtaining true immortality and gaining the powers of the SO6P. He even researched/studied hashirama's cells. Orochimaru is the man.
