Yes. Homo sapiens originated in Africa. But they were a grayish color. The different pigmentations came later

Hmm... never heard of our MRCA of the Y-DNA and mtDNA lineages being grey. Maybe our earlier hominid ancestors after the loss of fur, but never Homo sapiens. Never seen a reconstruction of a gray human either!

Back in church school, I was taught that God created one of each race.

So it was actually white, black, asian, and hispanic

They were tropically adapted, similar to equatorial Africans today according to a few scientists.

Religious books don't really say much regarding this, most likely due to them not adhering to our social constructs of today and science points to black Africans being the first modern humans.
And yeah, it matters. Your thoughts?

Actually there are similair social constructs, but anyway, race is itself a pretty social construct, if you refer to something as human then, yea people in africa would be the first since humans started there if i remember correctly, though i think people emigrated and the people that stayed in africa died or some, meaning "black" people i guess, though they were not like black people today generally ofcourse, thats discriminating.

You need to ask a grown-up. Preferably an anthropologist. Why are you asking here, do you expect any 13-year-old to know anything about the topic?

Just because you are 13 year old, doesn't mean everyone is.

OT - According to latest discovery, the human life originated in modern Africa. Actually, when the human life came into being around 400000 - 200000 years ago, it was just one giant middle earth surrounded by water from all sides. So in a way, you can say that human life originated in modern day Africa. As for race, it's still crowed in mystery.

Why don't you google it?

And why do people on this forum care so much about races? Every day someone makes a race thread.

We can not keep a distinction alive without continuously talking about it ..... So we definitely need continuous reminders.

In the Catholic Church, the Adam and Eve story is regarded as metaphorical and not as a historical account.

I know this because I went to a Catholic school and Religious Education was compulsory and solely focused on Christianity in the eyes of the church.
