Where did kishi say that sasuke and naruto would be equal?

People have been saying this and i believed it because it was believable, but someone pointed out that kishi never said this and asked for proof. They said kishi stated "they grow together" and "when one gets a power the other gets a counter to it". That does not mean they are equal. When/where did kishi say this, does anyone have proof?

Did madara and hashirama not grow together? They had a counter for each other and one clearly got stomped in the end, twice actually.

Infact, if you follow the trend, all of the indra reincarnations have lost to the ashuras.

LEL how could they lose. madara stayed alive after the fight in VoTE and could cause this. madara won without hashi knowing it. sasuke won at VoTE and in other occassions

you must have forgotten, indara was was superior than ashura. much better in almost every aspect. so were the transmigrates. madra>hashi, sasuke>naruto. then ashura found friends and needed them to make him finally equal. and so were his transmigrates. ashura never be better than indra, and indra after ashura having friends, became equal with ashura.

Exactly. Kishi said they grow together but he never said they were equal, there's a difference. Clearly there have been points where one was stronger than the other.
