If light represents positivity, while darkness represents negativity, why do we need both? Can't we balanced only on light? What would it mean if we have too much positivity, and not enough negativity, and vice versa?

You can't know what good is if you don't know what bad is.

Light can never be absolute so it is best to have the two working on the same side. Not everyone can get pulled into the light, having a descendant to represent shadow means Hagoromo acknowledged that there will always be a degree of Darkness in the world.

Even if using that free will could lead to upsetting the balance of nature? for example bringing the dead back to life which would disturb the nature of death

How would one know the value of good if there is no evil? If the world was only good, then it would just be a commodity and not something to be cherished or recognized.

Impossible to not have both. What's light to one can be darkness to another.

True but free will allows you to make you own individual choices no one person can tip the balance so much that it would be irreversible. You can't tell people what to think you can force them I guess...

Death is kinda independent from good and evil so in itself it is balanced. Bringing people back to life would upset it and everyone being dead would upset it since neither of these things can happen it is in equilibrium for the most part

"Light" and "Darkness" are human concepts. In reality, the world is only gray.
