That's scientifically and mathematically incorrect. NASA has found many planets with surprising resemblance to Earth including its atmosphere, composition and its distance from its star. Mathematically, stuff like Drake's Equation (I don't remember the name of the equation, that's just a guess), mathematically prove that Earth is not really the little unique spot in the universe that we accustom ourselves to believing but instead may be one of thousands or millions of planets that bear life

Neither one of us can definitely say yes or no on that for obvious reasons. Also, we humans have been one the Earth for about 100,000 years or so, most likely more, and yet we barely started to make advancements around 12,000 - 20,000 years ago. Now realize the universe is roughly 15 billion years old. Any species that made advancements even a thousand years before us will still be have a big advantage.

One can never be sure to whether there are other forms of life other than us or there aren't, because of the immense and still-increasing size of the universe, but what I'm sure about is, that we'll never come in contact with them. The life of the Earth will be long over before we actually manage to get in touch with the so-called aliens.
