Itachi's Genjutsu will work on Kakashi. Breaking it and getting caught in it are two different things. By the time Kakashi breaks it Itachi would of already converged upon Kakashi's location, and once that happens Kakashi won't be able to use Kamui. He even stated he can't use Kamui up close. Or Itachi can simply put him in it and then prep an H.I. to use against Kakashi. If he breaks the Genjutsu in the time before H.I. is activated, it's still too late; it takes 1-3 seconds tops to activate. Kakashi wouldn't be able to react in time especially since he doesn't know that Itachi is even using it. Nagato could distract Jiraiya via ST so he cannot defend Kakashi.


As for Gama Rinsho? Like Centurion said, sound Genjutsu has already canonically countered by basic Fuuton.

Nagato has Fuuton. In fact, he mastered it beyond normal means because of his possession of the Rinnegan.

Kakashi can't use Kamui up close? -_- he warped Obito when he was right in front of him... And with intel Kakashi has never been caught in Itachi's Genjutsu...you think he's that dumb? Because Nagato can use BT to confuse Kakashi as well as his entire summoning arsenal beforehand to keep Kakashi busy. Not to mention Nagato can hide Itachi in an invisible chameleon. Nagato, being a sensor, can also sense the build-up of Kamui and respond via Kaiwan no Hiya to disrupt the activation.

Kakashi didn't have as much mastery of Kamui back then. Itachi beat him in one second because he used Tsukuyomi on Kakashi. But Kakashi improved after this, and gained intel on Tsukuyomi. They fought in Part 2, and Kakashi did not fall for Itachi's Genjutsu at all. Also, a lot of people on Naruto Base now agree that war arc Kakashi > Itachi. With full intel and a 25 meter starting distance, Nagato and Itachi take this handily. War arc Kakashi is not in this matchup so I don't see the point in mentioning his feats in the war. This also means that his Kamui and reactions to activate it (while still fast) are significantly slower, to the point that Sasuke was able to draw two Susano'o arrows, launch them, and

at the very start of the match, whilst Nagato summons the chameleon and dog at the same time (thanks to extra arms grown from Asura Path). He and Itachi then go invisible in the chameleon and snipe the team with Amaterasu/Asura Path missiles/chakra cannon, while the dogs act as diversions/meatshields for Kakashi to waste Kamui on.
