He used only her first name implying he was close to her.He didn't even say ''Hashirama's wife'' etc ,only Mito.

i dont think he was in love with her like hinata for naruto but i think his feelings for her were there one of the reasons he left along with not being 1st hokage and the uchiha clan betraying him
