It has to do with confirming Itachi is indeed a hero wh not only protected Konoha but the world as well. What a hero!

They couldnt come up with a solution dude. Hiruzen was just chillin hittin dat pipe and Uchiha were having a meeting on how to attack konoha the next day.

Shisui's plan was ideal, but Danzo had other interests. And yeah I still dont understand why Itachi just didnt use Kotoamatsukami on Fugaku but whatever. For plot's sake Itachi had to slay all of 'em in order to keep peace and save Konoha from ultimate destruction.

Itachi was a soldier a tool.U can't ask for what he did is good or bad.It's desperste action and obeying orders.

I just think that, he should have stayed by his family, and maybe they could have figured something out, itachi was stronger then his father and probably most of the uchiha at the time, so he could've been the leader and talked it out with them

what itachi did (at the current time) was a good thing, simlar to what obito is doing now, but even if shisui's plan didint work, they could've found a diffrent way, just like i said in a other post, itachi was stronger then alot of the uchiha's at the current time, so he could've forced his father to listen and he could've comprised with the hidden leaf, instead of killing his entire family, who trusted in him

It was ugly, but somebody had to do it. Itachi was the man. He saved Konoha from becoming nothing but an empty, ruined legendary battlefield where once a village called "Konoha" was raised there...

It could have chance if the elders really wanted to , they only seeked power . Plus if it was the right choice then Nagato's path was great though , and on an even bigger scale.

He also did it to protect Sasuke. As Danzo said, he had the choice to avoid konoha from ruins and keep sasuke safe, or join uchiha, start a civil war and sasuke gets killed. Not much of a choice there.

Any way you look at it, he did the right thing. In the end, one choice would have a larger and more horrible impact, so he basically chose the less-bloody one.

Out of the 2 choices, I'd say he picked the right one. Saving Konoha and its future in the process its nothing but another great achievement by this Hero named Itachi Uchiha of the Hidden Leaf.

Some of what you said was Assumption, they were tired of their treatment, so they were taking over the "Village", they had it all planned out, itachi was their spy and they thought about it for years, it was well excuted thought out plan, they were not acting off emotion, they were not under uchiha insanity, they just wanted equal right's, so no, you don't know if they were gonna try to take over other village's, that's pure assumption, also not all of them were power hungry, itachi didn't have to give up either, he was one of the strongest in the clan, he could've took charge if he wanted to
