Could Minato mark Itachi?

If Minato and Itachi came in contact and Minato needed to mark him for some reason could he get close enough to do so?

Minato is very fast but relies mostly on his Kunai and FTG, and Itachi's sharingan could keep track of the kunai and his shrunken jutsu could prevent them from getting close enough for a surprise attack from Minato.

I don't see Itachi using Susanoo so easily. I mean it does major damage to the host body and is only used as a last resort in Itachi's battles.

Well, then I think Minato could mark him.

I believe so. He can choose to scatter the field around him with kunai (like during his battle with A and Bee). That way, even if he was looking, Itachi might not be able to guess which kunai he would appear from.

Minato would forcefully throw Kunais several feet around Itachi, and then throw one at him while in the air, and while Itachi tried to dodge it, he'd move close enough to another Kunai that he'd be instantly in touching distance, and the mark would be set.

Sharingan can predict movement of the body, so I don't think his sharingan can predict which Kunai Minato would teleport to.

Itachi stopped the machine gun equivalent of Kunai thrown at him from feet away by hitting each one with Kunai. He also managed to blind all of Nagato's summons with Kunai all at once before they seen them coming. I don't think Minato would be able to get close enough.

Obito can become tangible in an instant, and Minato was still able to touch him. I don't think Itachi would be able to never get touched by Minato then

Minato can teleport inside the sussano . FTG Has radius of around the mark to teleport . He can probbably mark the sussano alone and teleport inside of it . Since Susanoo is chakra he can transfer some chakra to the susanno and again teleport inside of it or he can wrap the susanno away for a moment and then he can mark Itachi.

minato would surely get close enough as long as itachi does not use his susanoo....with his kunia scattered around itachi he would most likely be able to mark itachi....the sharigan only reads movements and not teleportation!! the reningan would even fare better than the sharigan in ma opinion

Well, Minato is praised for his reflexes, even by A. I think Minato would definitely be able to avoid all the kunai better than Nagato's summons. And so long as Minato throws Kunai at Itachi, even if they are deflected, Minato "can" (not saying he would) teleport to each kunai thrown and touch Itachi amidst the onslaught of kunais.

You said a few feet, so let's say each person is 5'10. (About average for men) Let's call a few feet 5 - 8. Itachi is most like blocking those Kunai at half the distance between each person. So somewhere around 2.5 - 4 feet are the Kunais from both Itachi and Minato being struck at the same time. Minato can teleport to a Kunai that was just recently hit, (so the kunai is falling down right now) and since he is around 5'10, he would be able to touch Itachi who is around 2.5 - 4 feet away

I'd say he can - besides, rep spreads fast right? Itachi knows about Minato's speed, and I'm guessing he'd say something like getting marked is inevitable. Literally, if Minato touches you ONCE, then the seal is on you for good.

Obito had the sharingan too, but didn't take account that Minato could teleport to the shuriken.

If we say the same about Itachi than Itachi might get marked too.
