But IMO I thint he would not have tried to save him, because he is a realist who likes to do things by himself and would not waste his chackra in trying to save him.

By doing so, he would focaus all his power into attacking Kaguya in which case I see two situations occuring.
(1) He may stall her long enough and get lucky if back up arrives.
(2) Kaguya would stomp him and completly take control of NV untill Naruto finds a way out to save everybody.

If he knew that Naruto wasn't going to have SoSP powers he wouldn't have. He saved him this time because he knows he needs him. He said himself that the only reason he saved Kakashi and Sakura was because they were standing beside them and got protected by Susanoo. Sasuke will def saved Naruto. He wont let anyone kill him. Only he can so he can eat his flesh so that hell have a little piece of Noodles with him. Quite literally too.
