Here's what people need to realise about sharingan genjutsu or even other genjutsus: Knowing the genjutsu "kai" method does NOT give you immunity to the genjutsu in battle. Unless you have a powerful dojutsu like a sharingan which not only sees through the genjutsu, but can counterattack with their own genjutsu, it's a long process to break the genjutsu. First, you have to realise that you are in the genjutsu. Second, you have to actually break out of the genjutsu using the kai method. While you are doing that, you are a sitting duck left to be killed. Jiraiya's only chance is to avoid getting caught by Itachi's genjutsu all together, because if he does get caught early on-he dies. Quite simple.

No. The fanboy is the one saying that Genjutsu won't stop Jiraiya despite he didn't show any skills in freeing himself from Genjutsu. He isn't even skilled in Genjutsu. Orochimaru is also a Sannin and he had no chance against 3 Tomoe Genjutsu.

Either you post a scan with a skill of Jiraiya suggesting he can definitely break such a Genjutsu or it is just your opinion.

Not to mention such a genjutsu can easily be countered with a shadow clone. Like I said, Tsukoyomi but no finger genjutsu. Oro's case is different.

And Bunshin isn't a reliable counter for Genjutsu. Bunshin feints can be used once to fool the opponent, but they were never a durable solution since the victim would never fall for the same trick twice. Itachi can also use Kagebunshin and Karasu Bunshin. Does that mean he will counter any attack of Jiraiya with a simple Bunshin feint? Itachi is by far more skilled than Jiraiya in terms of creating feints.

A counter in the long run for Genjutsu is perfect Chakra control or being a Jinchuriki. A counter in the long run for Amaterasu is having lightning speed. Not simply Bunshin.

He broke that girl out of itachi genjutsu in the episode when him and kisame were trying to capture naruto, in the original naruto series, he'll even when jiriaya taught naruto how to break out of a genjutsu it was originally to be ready for ninja like itachi,jiraiya was well prepare to drop itachi like a bad habit had the time ever came.

This bunshin talk you're talking is irrelevant. Can Jman break out the finger genjutsu? Yes he can with bunshin if he has any problem and since he knows Itachi is a genjutsu fighter. A bunshin can hit Jman himself like sakura did to Naruto when he was caught in it

I'm not going into who wins between both but finger genjutsu can be countered. The only way I see Jman countering amaterasu is if he uses SM(he can sense and create a clone to block Itachi's line of sight) but that doesn't mean Jman would win cuz of lack of reaction feats.
