I have no real evidence to say this other than it would be a let down for him to just have ANOTHER Susanoo ability.

My only reasoning for it would be because Obito already has an ultimate defense in the form of Kamui's body substitution technique.

Ergo I'm imagining something better than Susanoo. Don't know what but it will be more interesting. Maybe it will grant him a super ST technique or something. Maybe something similar to Kaguya's currect technique which allows him to transport parts of his body through portals.

So now he doesn't have to worry about leaving his body vulnerable.

So he's officially untouchable to anybody

Madara has Amaterasu. In fact he has superior control of it, this can be seen when Tobirama spits an unknown water jutsu at him from his mouth while restricted by the black rods. He uses the Amaterasu as an arm shield to vaporize the jutsu immediately. Plus, to even gain Susano'o at such a high level as Madara's he must have had superior mastery of Amaterasu and Tsukuyomi. Albeit he may not use them, like how we didn't know Minato had Toad Sage Mode until he lost an arm. I'm just saying though, he had all these powerful Katon techniques that where more inevitable and would burn faster than Amaterasu why use it? Although he is versed in Genjutsu I'm not sure why he doesn't use Tsukuyomi though...
