The guy who doesn't understand basic marketing is calling other people not smart enough now.

The 6 chapter buffer is in case of emergencies not in case of short trips. Besides if the would lets say publish 2 of those, they need to build up buffer again to reach that 6. We would still have a break again. Also some of those on shelf chapters are also works in progress, if Oda wants to do some last minute changes he still is able too, if they're at the publisher he can't.

You're the only one who has got a problem with this (possible) break.

And I also want to react to your response on the first page.

A free chapter is like a free cake someone comes to bring to you every week. You're allowed to have an opinion if it's good or bad, but you can't complain if that person decides not to give you a cake on some weeks.

That is what this section is for, you can discuss your opinion.

Now go eat a snickers, because you turn into a right diva when you're hungry for a chapter.

The point of what I'm saying is, how does Oda taking a trip warrant Shonen Jump taking a break? Does Oda need to be there and drawing to publish it? That's all I'm saying.

No that is not why manga artists have buffers. Besides it's not 1 or 2 but Oda said in an interview a while ago that he always had 6 chapters ready to be published and some after that where his assistants are working on backgrounds and details.

So people who imply that next chapter will have some kind of special ending because of the break are wrong. Those chapters are basically 'six weeks old'.

Also it has nothing to do with Oda, it's Shounen's responsibility to publish. They know that there won't be any problems if they do regular breaks because it's the number 1 series of all time and nothing will change that. Besides with all the breaks they can add they keep One Piece alive longer. So this is marketing 101.

You have nothing to complain about when you pirate this for free from internet every week. This schedule is nothing new. We've had 4 chapters 1 break for quite some while now. Compared to a lot of other manga's One Piece is released a lot, with more content than most.

Amen brother even though Oda takes more breaks than Kubo & Kishimoto he deserves respect.

If they have 6 chapters ahead of where we are, doesn't that mean that when 752 is being released, Oda is giving them 758? So they have 753-758 on them. If Oda is taking a break, they don't get 759, but they can still release 753 because they already have it.

But than they would only be 5 chapters ahead, and than the next time it happens 4 and than 3, 2 and than lastly 1 and than Oda is submitting current chapters as they are released which can't be done so the breaks are INEVITABLE. How are you not getting this?

Does the number have to be 6 at all times? I figured you just had to be ahead, and 6 just happens to be the number that they're at. I understand breaks are inevitable, they have to happen, but this one doesn't have to. That's all I was trying to say and all of you jumped on me for no reason.

Ok I am going to try and explain. By not publishing the manga it means that One Piece is popular for longer. How? Because if you add in all the breaks they will add up to about 4 years by the end. That will be 4 more years of OP being popular and still running so they will get more money out of it.

yes its annoying but all SJ care about is money and by running the series for a larger length of time they get more of it.
