Many interpretations have been done about the reality warping/dimensional shifting jutsu which Kaguya has displayed.
My first one was that it was a reality warping jutsu, indeed; but after reading a couple of theories, I've changed my opinion and thus ended up favouring those which put forward that the technique was a dimensional shifting jutsu.
Yet recent research done by me has led me to a different interpretation. Even so, such interpretation still incorporates some features of the former ones.
Let's get started with the theory/explanation itself.
Let's make clear a couple of concepts and precepts so that you may achieve a better comprehesion of what I am saying.
1- Concepts such as "real" and "unreal" are not precise, thus instead of those ones I will use the concepts of "extension" and "thinking".
2- When refering to "extension" and "thinking", I will say "extended level" and "thinking level" respectively. When refering to diferent "dimensions" within each "level", I will say "dimension" preceded by its corresponding adjective if appropiate.
3- The teleportation via black portal and the jutsu that Kaguya used to send Team 7 and Obito to the lava dimension are not the same. This may seem obvious, but I don't want any misinterpretation. I will explain this more in detail later on.
1- Kakashi's statements: all along he has been trying to explain Kaguya's lava/ice world technique.
A: "Is that lava a genjutsu? No, this feeling is real.
B: "Indeed, it's not genjutsu".
C: "She can rewrite the world in one instant, and it's real... just like genjutsu".
Why would Kishimoto make us gain interest in this matters just for throwing them away? What if all this statemens are true in one way or another?
2- That panel just befere the ice dimension appeared in which it was focused in the Kaguya's third eye (the tomoed rinnegan). This has led me to thinking that Kaguya's jutsu has something to do with either the Sharingan's power or the Rinnegan's power; Maybe Izanagi/Izanami and Banbutsu Sōzō... or maybe both.
The black portal
The black portal joins a point A of an extended level to a point B of an extended level. This is proven by the fact that Kaguya sent Sasuke to the sand dimension from the ice dimension.
I don't think that the black portal is able to join a point A of a thinking level to a point B of an extended level (or vice versa). That just doesn't seem legit to me.
The dimension shifting
1- Kaguya thinks something and gives it the properties she wishes (lava, ice, sand...), thus that something is in a thinking level (henceforth, instead of "something", I will say "dimension"). Now, she can turn such thinking dimension into a genjutsu (insuflating such dimension in the minds of others), but Kakashi's statements leads us to think that Kaguya's jutsu is not just a genjutsu, since acording to that statement, it feels "real".
2- Thus Kaguya turns such thinking dimension that is in a thinking level into an extended dimension that is in an extended level.
3- She can create many diferent dimensions if she wants so, as shown when she teleported Sasuke to the sand dimension (Naruto, Sakura, Kakashi and Obito still were in the ice dimension).
4- She can send people (or whatever she wants) from one dimension to another using the black portal.
1- What are Kaguya's dimension shaping limitations? If she can create lava, ice, sand... why doesn't she just think in Team 7 dead and it's over?
2- Why doesn't Kaguya teleport just a portion of Sasuke's body? This way, it would be way more easy for her to destroy him.
3- What has to do the castle that we have seen in the lava dimension and ice dimension with this?
:bye: I hope you have enjoyed...

First of all...
