Question About Madara's Survivial? Was he really scared?

So i was scrolling down on the lastest threads and came across an interesting point

Madara Survived the battle with Hashirama, so why didn't he come back to the Village?

Was he scared? Or was he that heavily damaged that he could never return back to the surface?

He didn't survive, he died.
He also lost the Kyubi which was over half his power. He stood no chance in defeating Hashirama after that.

He never returned because it was never his intention to return to the village.

Rinnegan and Infinite Tsukuyomi was his goal.

He was planning and preparing his true goal (Infinite Tsukuyoumi). Hence, making an underground base away from people to see the mazou.

He left the village on purpose to create his dream world [Mugen Tsukuyomi], it would serve no point for him to return...

He took precautions to acquire Hashiramas DNA [Winning the battle was not his main concern]... He was severely weakened after his fight at VOTE, but he was more concerned about awakening rinnegan and summoning Gedou Mazo :/
