A group of space experts from across the world have discovered a new planet that is similar to Earth.
and in an astonishing revelation the scientist have announced that it could support alien forms of life.

The planet is called Gliese 832 c, and is around five times larger than the Earth.
At a distance of just 16 light-years away, it’s relatively close and experts say it’s the nearest we’ve ever come to finding a planet similar to our own.

Gliese 832 c is thought to have seasons and conditions like Earth and water could exist on the planet making life possible.It takes 36 days to orbit around a red dwarf star, which is much cooler than our sun.But with Gliese 832 c being positioned much closer to its star, it receives almost the same amount of energy as we do.

just 16 light years away lol ? are you high do you know how many generations it would take to get there ? stop thinking about the future mate you probably will be long dead before anyone even thinks about going there

Technology is improving rapidly and rockets could get faster, in even like 20 years we may have the technology to reach there

That's ****ing depressing.
Knowing that there could be aliens, inhabiting a planet similar to ours, and that it's just far enough away that I will be dead before we can ever reach it. Not to mention, I probably won't be dead for more than like 50 years.

Hopefully all the facts are straight, can't wait to read more atricles on this in the future. This is awesome. Though, probably won't be so awesome if there is life on there and they turn out to be hostile as hell...

But at least it would confirm there's life out there.

Other experts have said that it's probably too hot for us to inhabit that planet.
Also, if/when we do reach that planet, if we're looking to use it as a new earth, that will just immediately cause wars, and riots and other boring stuff.
