To begin, I will say that should not get me wrong. I am really serious about what I am about to say, and I want anyone who will read the thread to understand it.
While most people are complaining about the chapter, and how Naruto is stupid, or even how Naruto's greatest jutsu is the TNJ, I really enjoy every single action perform by Naruto in a serious fight. His actions either have a deep meaning, or they are used to introduce something new.
I. Why Such A Basic Jutsu?
Now, you guys remember that in chapter 681, BZ tried a TNJ by saying that his mother and himself are the progenitor and writter of the history of the Shinobi world. Well, as the hero, Naruto had to give them an answer. He had to prove them wrong, and he used the very first Jutsu he created to do so.
See, all the people who think Kaguya is unbeatable were proven wrong. Here, Naruto was basically saying, "you are not god, you are not the author of the history of the shinobi, and there are jutsus out there that you don't know. This is the role of the main character, to reply to everything that the villain says, especially in a story where the will of a person plays a big deal of role.
II. Naruto's brain vs Sasuke's brain
As soon as I log on NB, I saw a user - who is certainly mad about my reasoning - point me to a great discovery he mad. According to him, Naruto is stupid because he did a stupid jutsu in a serious situation, and only Sasuke saved the day. I read his post, then went right on the manga page to read the chapter. From his comment, I was expecting something silly from Naruto, and something really great from Sasuke. Seriously, I did not reply to his post after reading the chapter because I thought he did not understand the chapter.
(1) Sasuke used amaterasu on Kaguya who had absorbed Madara who could absorbed Amaterasu. I wonder why he would use amaterasu against her? Should he not know that it won't work? See, this is why I think Sasuke has exhausted his card, and Kishi needs to do something new for him.
(2) Naruto's Reverse harem Jutsu made an opening, which was the goal of the attack, and he actually landed a hit on Kaguya. Naruto also made the point I highlighted above. So in my opinion, the action along with the statement prove that Naruto is actually thinking straight. Naruto is being very smart in this move to begin with.
III. Conclusion
In this thread, I tried to show actually that a manga or a story is not about fighting, or using cool power. As Zetsu said, a skilled shinobi can kill a very powerful shinobi with a Kunai. Sasuke may be using flashy moves or cool moves such as Amaterasu, PS, and others, but these moves are all useless against Kaguya. None of these moves had had an impact as great as what the Harem Jutsu accomplished. Both protagonists has never been close to sealing Kaguya as they were in 682.
Thus, while it seems that the purpose of this forum is solely for comparing Sasuke and Naruto, people should not bash what is actually the essential of the message that Kishi is giving.
