So I don't think deidara would be able to buy time to even start the jutsu.

Hyruzen's hype based on data book: hiruzen can use all the jutsus in konoha. Susanoo and yata were awakened in konoha during the uchiha massacre. If you're taking data book seriously then it means hiruzen can ise susanoo and yata mirror as well because they were in konoha.
