Could the Tailed Beasts be considered Kaiju?

What the title says. I ask this because I'm in a grayzone of whether or not they are considered Kaiju. While, yes, the tailed beasts are massive creatures that can level cities, they however don't resemble any accepted and popular kaiju in media today such as Godzilla or Mothra. (and yes, I am aware that Kaiju means strange creature in Japanese)

Also, Did I post this thread in the right section?

Yea they are if you remember when the tailed beasts were fighting with naruto . Gai mentioned that the bijuu fight reminded him of a fight with Godzilla vs multiple monsters. Do you not remember

In English, Kaiju is used for giant monsters, mainly those found in Toho's Godzilla films, Godzilla, Mothra, hell even King Kong is considered a Kaiju.

I think Gai compared the fight to a monster smackdown, according to the official sub translations.
