why are the hatakes no clan ?

Why the hatake family isn´t a clan ?
Every Charackter has a familytree or a bloodline.
The hatake family also has a special ability ( white chakra ) which is the reason sakumo was called the white fang
white : because of the white chakra
fang: im sure its because the hatakes a also like the inuzukas trusted with dogs ( speculation)
Maybe they are related with the inuzukas but i don´t get why they are no clan.

But staying on topic, maybe like the Senju clan, they mainly females left that had families with other people and faded out their original heritage. For a while, I always thought Jiraiya might have also been a Hatake.. Alas, this is just hope talking here.
