First off, I'm just not talking commercial rappers alone. No rules to this. It doesn't have to be in order. Just list and name any you feel randomly.

Are you kidding me? I mean I like listening to Tyga because of his beats if I need a break from other stuff but he is most definitely not a lyricst.

No order, and only based off rappers I listen to regularly so I can't add someone like Lupe even though he's really good lyrically

Earl Sweatshirt
Ab-Soul
MF DOOM
GZA
Em
Aesop Rock
Nas
Captain Murphy
Kendrick
Black Thought

Not in order. (Except its cut in half by top 1-5 and 6-10)

1-5:

Lupe Fiasco
Joe Budden
Big L
Crooked I
Papoose

6-10:

Mos Def (Or "Yasiin Bey" these days)
Canibus
Cassidy
MF Doom
Nas

Honorable Mentions:

Pharoahe Monch (Literally on the edge of being in my top 10 except he'd have to push one of the 6-10 guys out.)

Joell Ortiz (Crazy schemes alone put him up there, but of course that's not even close to all he has to offer.)

Royce da 5'9 (Nice ass wordplay and punchlines. Dude is nice on the entertainment half too.)

Isaiah Rashad (Great artist and you can just feel the emotions in his music. Cilvia Demo easily became one of my favorite mixtapes of all time.)

Kendrick Lamar (Great artist and a nice lyricist.)

Slick Rick (One of the GOAT storytellers. You hear a Slick Rick LP and go on an adventure.)

TI (Somewhat of a Southern GOAT overall and has some nice ass project, and can rip a mic apart when he feels like it. Dude has nice multisyllabic whymes too. Reps the A town properly, a real ass n*gga)
Los is working his way into honorable mentions.

My Nigaa you know Rap.
The second I saw Papoose, it was obvious. He's sick as hell.
Also Big L got barz as well. People always say him and Pap are alike.

Nas is my all time lyricist as well and props to people who mentioned Big L. Damn how long you been listening to Pap?

Word, they are pretty alike imo.

Man I been listening to Pap for a couple months now, maybe a year. I either first saw him in the cypher with Lupe and Styles or I listened to King of New York. Otherwise it could have been his Control response. That might have been when I started f*cking with him. I went through his discography just bumping his crazy bars. Dude spazzes on and off a mic.

Nice man. I've been listening to Pap since 07. His control response was damn crazy. Also did you hear his Rap God and Versace? Damn Pap goes in. People hate on him though. I remember his cypher with P and Lupe, he went it. I liked his Dead wrong freestyle, Victim ft Jae Millz. Pap is a lyricist but he's hella underrated.
