Well too be honest Hagoromo probably wasnt as good looking but far more stronger than Hamura.I rekon he doesnt look that great due to the fact that the dude has the most powerful rinnegan along with the 3rd eye on his face.

Where does it say anything about his third eye being "sealed away"?

We have no feats from pre Juubi Jin Hagoromo's Rinnegan use. And the Byakugan isn't trash either. Also, there are other abilities beside Dojutsu, just think of Ashura and Naruto. Given the huge parallel that was made between Hagoromo/Hamura, Ashura/Indra and Naruto/Sasuke, I really doubt Hamura was overall much weaker than Hagoromo.
