How did Black Zetsu one shot Madara?

How did Black Zetsu manage to take down Madara the 10 tails Jinchuriki. Don't you think that was a bit of an exaggeration? Shouldn't Naruto and Sasuke have fought and defeated him first? I was expecting more from Madara vs Naruto and Sasuke and it would have been a better story if Naruto and Sasuke took him down and then Black Zetsu finished him off.

He is not technically Kaguya's will. She infected him and turned him to her will, but he was/is technically Madara's will so he was able to hurt himself. If that makes sense? That just imo.
