his has been bugging me. in 673 sasuke showed his rinnegan with 9 tomoe and 6 tomoe. i didn't get the inconsistency until this chapter. i don't think it's kishi just forgetting to draw an extra set of tomoe. even though there's plenty of mistakes in chapters that's later corrected in the books.
i think when sasuke uses the ability in his rinnegan, 1 set of 3 tomoe disappear. in 673 he was able to pull out Madara's stakes holding down Tobirama. we don't see his eye until he gets teleported to Naruto's location. there, he's shown with 6 tomoe in his rinnegan.
one page later he's shown with 9 tomoe... what?
my guess is that the 3rd set returned just after he teleported. i think he used his eye technique in conjunction with the 2nd's thunder god tech which is why he was only shown with 2 sets, since it takes a bit of time to recharge. i don't remember the 2nd being able to just send things to places without sending himself (correct me if i'm wrong). i think each set of tomoe allows him to use his eye technique(s).
in the beginning of 674, Sasuke has 6 tomoe right when it looks like he's activated his rinnegan tech and shifts to a new position.
after Sasuke uses his eye technique to stab Madara and show up where the sword was, there's no tomoe in his eye.
and then in the second to last panel there's some sound effects "ZAA" "ZAA" which could be the 2 sets returning to his eye. and on the next page he has 2 sets back
later when he shifts madara between himself and naruto, his eye's don't have any tomoe again
anyways, i'm still not sure what Sasuke's ability actually is. but it definitely has something to do with Yin chakra... perhaps some sort of genjutsu on himself mixed with high speed movement? hiraishin + kamui together? it's hard to say high speed movement is involved since there's not lines or "poof dust" drawn to show he even moved.
what do you guys think?
