I grew up with Dragonball. It will always be on Top of every Manga/Anime for me. I know some of you can't understand & would say, what's so great about Dragonball? But Dragonball is the Father of Manga/Anime! Many famous Artists from today were inspired by it such as your favourite Mangaka Oda or Kishi. Akira brought the Manga/Anime section to a whole new Level at that time. It was simply amazing.
Not everyone can see the depth of Dragonball & some probably never will. But it doesn't matter. Dragonball made a part of my childhood really awesome.
Now to Goku. Goku is such an awesome Character. Everytime he was gone/left his friends, you could really feel that something is missing. Something very important, for example, you live without a dor & a thief could break in your house anytime. Goku was always pillar of the Series & of his friends. He was the definition of Protection & Safety for them & for us, the Fans! : )
When Goku came back after a long time, after he finished training for several years somewhere, you could really feel the safety, the pillar that is back again. All your concern & fear was gone. That is how awesome Goku is.
Goku is strong, compassionate, honest, stupid & forgiving. He came from the heavens, shared humanitys pain & sorrow. He accomplished miracles & fought against the strongest Forces. He died for us & even in his dead he was fighting for us. I'm happy to have witnessed this awesomeness.
