Why didn't Madara use Izanagi?

i don't think Madara had any time to react to using Izanagi... the manga always makes it look so slow... though the process can be really fast. perhaps Madara was taken over pretty quickly... as well as all the chakra that blasted inside of him made him unable to control it... and probably use it too

edit; he had rinnegan activated when stabbed, thus making him unable to use Izanagi in time...
you need to activate it before the lethal blow hits you...

TBH there is really no reason he would have not used izanagi anyone skilled in the use of sharingan should be able to use it at anytime... especially with EMS... "Edit": Even if he didn't have it activated it seemed like kaguya was taking her sweet little time when pushing all that black zetus stuff onto madara, i guess the manga makes it seem slower than it may have been but still seems likely that he could have switched to sharingan in time, i mean look how fast naruto came at him the that rasenshuriken in the anime and he switched to rinnegan to absord in the blink of an eye.... so yah.

He was still alive since he was thinking. You don't need to activate it before the damage happens, that wasn't stated anywhere, Danzo and Obito just had to do that because they wouldn't have the time do activate if afterwards since the attacks would have killed them instantly. But Madara was still there for a short while, he had the time to activate.

True but he trashed Minato and Tobirama, and since he and Naruto + Sasuke had the time to talk I suppose that Kaguya was slower than Minato or Tobirama.

Madara like the above user said he was paralyzed. Black zetsu most likely nullified madara's chakra usage moreover I don't think madara would go through all the bs just to get his eye to lose them, losing a sharnningan is one thing but losing a rinnegan? Especially ones you had to go through a bunch of trouble to get? Yeah that's not happening. Besides if he did strategically speaking that'd be stupid cause after losing that eye he would lose his eye on his forehead cause you need two eyes to awaken that then he'd be right back where he started and he could barely handle Naruto and sasuke with just ONE eye so strategically speaking izanagi would be horrible.
