I have to question: why Silva instead of Maha (said to be Netero's equal)?
Netero > Chrollo who managed to survive a 2v1 with both Zeno (who IMO> Silva) and Silva.
You're right. Matter of fact it was stated that Netero survived fighting him. We are not even sure that Netero was as strong as Maha.
But the thing is we never saw him fight, not even a flashback. And he was mentioned only once.
Which is disappointing, because he looks like a beast.

He'll probably be more involved later in the story. Now that Netero is dead I doubt anyone other than two (or more) 3 star hunters can fight him evenly.
I hope that towards the end of the series Killua fights Maha. That would be epic!
So going by the hype Maha Zoldyck has he has to be a top 5 Nen user

2 others... Possibly Paris or Cheadle, Botobai (said to be second only to Netero within the Hunters Association) or Chrollo... There are a few candidates for these spots
Killua Vs Maha would be legendary, but it won't probably happen.
Killua vs Zeno is more likely to happen tho.
4th prince of kakin might enter the top 5 list. He got sets of scarlet eyes. If he place a vow one each set and is able to control more than one set of eyes at once, then damn.

I see Killua and Gon as Maha and Netero.
Gon will be the greatest hunter (as Netero was) and Killua will be the greatest assassin (as Maha is).
So EoS (after a timeskip of 10 years or so???) Killua vs Maha is possible.
Possibly but it's unlikely... Kurapika will probably kill the prince in revenge so he will be a little weaker than Kurapika's full potential. And Kurapika has nothing on Gon and Killua
