She was a normal princess who wanted to put a stop to the constant wars that were going on so she ate the chakra fruit.

Then she got her current appearance and the Byakugan, and with her new power she put a stop to all the wars. But then she grew power hungry and most likely wanted "Perfect children" (Zetsus) that would listen to whatever she says and have world peace that way.

She's not an alien.

My guess is thats her crown (after all she's a princess) and for some reason it imbedded into her skull after she ate the fruit and is the reason she gained those "horns"

We already know she's based off the Kaguya Bamboo cutter story, but kishi uses influences from the stories not flat out copies them.

We already know about Kaguyas relationship with the moon Infinite Tsukuyomi.

Kaguya is based on an alien. Is it really difficult to believe she might be one? Kishi is heavily influenced by DBZ, aliens throughout. Kaguya own story features her being from the moon I believe. And how does simply being a princess remove the possibility of her not being from their planet?
