In this theory I would like to discuss some of the origins of Kaguya and the God Tree; as well as discussing their imminent backgrounds and the truth behind them.
Without further ado; enjoy.
I thought it be best to start off from Kaguya's life and origins. In a previous thread around two months ago, I speculated that Kaguya was of extraterrestrial origins.

At the time the idea seemed far-fetched to many, but with the recent appearance of the Rabbit Goddess it seems this may indeed be the case.
So I know by now almost all of us are familiar with the Rabbit Princess story. To sum it up,
basically its about an alien named Kaguya who comes to earth from the Moon. She is known as the rabbit goddess and eventually returns to her people. But instead of dwelling on something you already know, I'd like to explore another outlet.
Now I'd like to propose what I believe may have been the case regarding Kaguya's origins. This came to me after Kaguya's affliction on what her goal is-

Even before eating the fruit, Kaguya wanted to maintain the peace to achieve her "goal"; whatever she defined it as. Madara mentions how she ate the fruit in order to subdue the war.

Taking these two accounts, one can deduce that Kaguya wants to maintain order of the people of Earth.
And this has led to me think that it:
- Kaguya is the last of her unique species/people
- She was sent from her homeland or native Planet to Earth with a purpose/goal
- Her main goal became to conquer the land and establish herself as the ruler
- Then she would aim to try and bring back her people as best she could
- At the same time she would spring an army in case she would ever become incapacitated
II. Connection
Before I can go into the above goals, I would like to to iterate to you one of the less looked upon Japanese Legends, The Mysterious Tale of Utsuro-bune-
This legend is more modern, dating back to the 19th Century (1800s)
One of the first modern UFO stories comes from Japan. This is the story of Utsuro-Bune, a mysterious alien woman who appeared suddenly from the depths of the Pacific Ocean on a round ship. A detailed study of paintings from the era of the Utsuru-Bune reveals an object that resembles a flying saucer, similar to those seen today. Hagoromo had red hair, and Madara Uchiha had Red Hair after becoming the Jinchuuriki, so it may not be too much of a stretch to say Kaguya had Red Hair as well.
The long robes with interesting symbols speaks for itself regarding Kaguya.
And there is the fact that Kaguya is the Rabbit Goddess

Mother Ōtsutsuki: She will be an outcast. They'll kill her.
Father Ōtsutsuki: How? She'll be a god to them.

III. Origins/Life
So now that I've shown the similarities, I'd like to get into Kaguya's origins.
Basically I've thinking that:
- On Kaguya's Home Planet, her people began dying and eventually everyone was going to die. The reason might be disease, famine, or another possibility (will address later). But I feel that as Kaguya's "parents" (or whomever of her people) realized that they could save their child;
- And thus sent her off on a ship to save her life and with the intent of her hopefully reviving her kin.
- But specifically, they chose Earth because the God Tree was on Earth.
- They wanted her to pick the Fruit of the Divine Tree
- Hagoromo confirms this in the VIZ:
"My mother Ohtsutsuki Kaguya came to this land of yours [Hagoromo explicitly stating how this land is not Kaguya's]You must be registered for see images
from a faraway place [probably her world]...
In order to claim the fruit of the Divine Tree."
Then she could eventually become the "Princess" of the people ;and thus eat the fruit to "win the war" between the clueless humans.

- They tried to mimic Kaguya through the name and Dots on the forehead.

- The reason their Kekkei Genkai is Bone Manipulation is probably because they wanted to create Rabbit Bone Ears outta their head.
- Kaguya would later disappear (probably since her sons stopped her) so they then tried to model after the Uchiha.
IV. Zetsu
Now this leads me to the next part: White Zetsu.
Black Zetsu told us that White Zetsu is the product of the victims affected by the IT over an extended period of time; their inevitable fate.

I've come to the ideas that:
- Kaguya was building an army; thus should something ever happen to her she can rely on both this soldiers and her will (Black Zetsu) to continue her plan.
- This was emanated exactly through Madara's words to Obito: "Use these beings as your soldiers"

- It's also possible that Kaguya is trying to convert these people into beings similar to her own species; but since their fundamental biology/body is different she can only come so close to cloning/replicating her own People. It's a failed experiment.
- This is also shown through Madara, who too could not successfully clone Hashirama and the Zetsu's being deemed "a failed experiment"

- This might be the reason why Zetsu's eyes look like a Byakugan

V. Juubi
The Juubi itself is another piece of the puzzle.
Many chapters ago, Kurama told Naruto that the Juubi is the same as nature itself

In fact, it is very possible that the Juubi being a Parasitic Extraterrestrial Plantae.
This came to me after the mechanics of the God Tree during the IT were explained.
First it was said that people are tied using the Holy Tree's Vital Energy

Kaguya's Goal could be to take back all the chakra by doing this and then recreating the Fruit; which takes me to my next point.

Firstly; they both produced a Fruit that could grant immense power.

This right here could be the key to the puzzle:
By gathering back all Chakra from the people; Kaguya might be able to use the God Tree and revive her people.
This could be through an improved version of the Zetsu method or something similar to Edo Tensei.
It's also possible that the Juubi goes from planet to planet sucking it dry. This could mean that the Juubi originally leeched Kaguya's planet and after getting massive energy it headed to Earth.
The planet was dying over time and by the time they realized what to do it was too late, so they planned for Kaguya to head to Earth and eat the Fruit and revive the clan there.
TL;DR
- Kaguya is of alien/extraterrestrial origins.
- Kaguya is the last of her people.
- She was sent from a dying planet to Earth
- Her main goal was to come and eat the Divine Tree's Fruit.
- Utsuno-Bune's story explains well of how Kaguya arrived/was treated upon her visit.
- Kaguya wanted to revive/bring back her people
- She tried to do so first by turning them into Zetsus but it was a failure
- She also built a Zetsu army that would continue her bidding should something happen to her
- Kaguya wants to steal chakra from the people and create another fruit.
- It's possible she wanted to return all chakra to the god tree then use that to bring back her people
- The Kaguya Clan (Kimimaro's people) originally worshiped Kaguya and wanted to imitate her as best as possible
- The God Tree is leeching off the vital energy of the people and planet
