Temari wasn't a puppet. She's one of the most independent females in the series. She feared Gaara because of her first hand accounts of his violence and the Shukaku. Even then she still loved him.

While yes, it's bad if a female character exists for the sole purpose of being a love interest, it's not necessarily a bad thing for a female character to be romantically interested in/involved with someone else.

I really don't get what you're saying about Tsunade considering that Dan is a character that is largely irrelevant. She's the Hokage, what more do you need? More than for the sake of Dan's dream, she took the position for the sake of protecting the village. Plus if we're talking about Tenten, you do know that Tenten idolizes her, right?

I do like Tenten, but if you're comparing her to Temari that way, well.
