Is God really the good guy in the bible?

I mean who has killed more people god or satan. He is a "jealous" God why would a god ever be jealous. On top of that in the story of the bible he seems (in my opinion) like a jealous, oppressive, psychotic, control freak. Meanwhile satan seems more for the people and god seems more about himself. You really mean to tell me god made another race of people to worship him? For what reason? Sounds a bit conceited to me. Another thing is why would god forbid his creations to eat from the tree of knowledge? In almost any instance if someones trying to hide knowledge from people they're either corrupt or oppressive possibly both. God isn't a savior, he's a tyrant, a dictator. But what it all comes down to is Christianity is just a stupid religion all together. I'm not say Christians are stupid, just their religion(in my opinion).

That's obviously what the devil wants you to believe. How naiive..

God was never necessarily a "nice" passive being. He's a realist. He does what needs to be done.

No, he is the villain, plot twist, and the devil is the good guy. Even greater plot twist. Everybody is the bad guy. Happy now?

"God is clearly a tyrant. He has committed many acts of evil, and somehow managed to amass an incredible following. That means God must be the ultimate deceiver. He has painted Satan as the deceiver to disguise his own faults and gain worshipers in a classic manner.

If the tyrannical dictator can condemn the good guy and convince enough people, he can get away with much evil. This is a ploy commonly used by skillful politicians and anyone who seeks personal gain at the expense of others."

I wonder how hot this thread will get?

OT: Well, have you ever considered the possibility that everything is actually a virtual reality? And that
this is one giant program, making the programmer the God, who is omnipotent in this reality, but still
having human flaws? Just food for thought. Not necessarily an actual belief of mine though.

Yet one of them resides in hell and the other joined by the pretense of angels and saints. Yep you must be so right. A little FYI, Satan didnt like humans and was jealous for they were created in the image of God, while he was deformed little prick waking on horse legs lol

So basically you're rearranging the reasoning of God's actions and making it seem as though he's the bad person.
In theory, wouldn't you be the "tyrannical dictator" in your example?

Regardless you're taking everything out of context to prove your baseless point.
Why don't you point out all the good things God has done? You're being completely impartial and trying to make God seem wrong which is exactly what you accuse God of doing with Satan.

"Satan purportedly rebelled against this evil tyrant, even though he was greatly outnumbered and faced an omnipotent being. That, according to our common beliefs, (as we praise military heroes who sacrifice themselves for the good of their nation) is not only admirable, but makes Satan a martyr.

Satan is the only deity who truly stands for free will. God threatens us with punishments for not adhering to his wishes. But Satan tells us that we should enjoy our lives and be happy and free to do what we think is right."

Dont worry about it bro. Satan will welcome him with open arms since "he is for the people".

Satan doesnt care about humanity. You really are delusional. I'd rather obey for our short time on earth and be rewarded eternal life in Heaven than do whatever the heck I want without consequences and spend the rest of my life in Hell burning and being tortured for an eternity, yeah Satan is for the people and very welcoming.

Yeah, this guys lucky. I've seen a lot of unfortunate people turn away from Satan and join God and, in turn, they're no longer drug and alcohol addicts and prostitutes anymore. Its a sad sight indeed...

Where are you getting these quotes from, out of curiosity?

Also, God offers infinite forgiveness. The Bible acknowledges the existence of Hell but never specifies as to whether or not people are actually there. In other words, while there is a place for those who have committed great sins, God doesn't necessarily punish us for them. He's always willing to offer us mercy. In addition to this, "His wishes" are also rules that society generally follows anyway. "Thou shall not kill," for example, is a universal law respected in virtually every country. God isn't the only one saying murder is bad, but because it came from the mouth of God so to speak, is it still oppressive?
