Kakashi already confirmed 8 gates give you power that's more than that of a hokage's, and from we saw, Gai would beat base Hashirama in 8th gate, seeing as how he nearly beat Juubi Rennigan Madara. All Madara had to defend from Gai was that black substance, if Hashirama tried to defened with Wood, Gai could break through it.

Dan was talking about edo Madara and we all know that:
Edo Madara > 8 Gates Gai

Are we talking about Gai with the 8th gate open? Because even if that's the case, Gai still wouldn't win because he'd be dead in the end.

Rinnegan Madara drops meteors on Gai.

Hashirama busts out a few thousand hands.

Gai can't touch either unless he uses the final gate, and even then there's no guarantee that Hashirama dies due to his insane body strength as well as his ability to regenerate. And then Gai dies so he wouldn't win.

OT: Hiruzen hype was never real. Minato insta-solos laughable diff.

I don't care whether Gai is dying or not. Point remains, 8th gate Gai, regardless of the fact that he'll die, can beat EMS Madara and SM Hashirama
