According the the databooks Neji's speed is above that of Hidans by 1. So i don't see speed being a problem for him at all.
he's still too inexperienced. According to the databook he's just as intelligent as Hidan. Anyways Kakashi will expose him and this is one of the reasons why.

why would the battle even last that long? Kakashi ended Zabuza who was hiding behind the mist before stamina could be an issue.

He only stabbed his stomach. Stabbing the stomach =/= cutting through bones and flesh. Neji hasn't shown any notable strength feats that suggests he can dismember someone.

Doesn't Sakura have better intelligent feats overall, including battle than Neji? Hinata doesn't have much screentime to show off her intelligence anyway just like Neji in that regard but she is ranked higher than Neji when it comes to intelligence. I still say Sasuke is smarter than Hinata though. Also neither Hinata or Neji's intelligence has been hyped in the manga whereas both Sakura and Sasuke have been hyped in that regard.
Sakura's fighting style revolves around CES but her physical strength isn't extraordinary at the beginning of Shippuden. The case is probably different now that Sakura has a Yin seal. It is still surprising that despite how fast Neji can move his arms, his strength score is vastly inferior to a lot of characters that don't move their arms with the same level of speed as Neji.

They both have different types of intelligence, Sakura has the book smarts but Neji is more levelheaded when it comes to battle. Hinata has 3,5 in intelligence too. Is she as intelligent as Sasuke who has 3,5 as we saw?

I'm pretty sure him getting stabbed clean through the abdomen in three places from front to back would result in at least one of the blades hitting his spine.
