I thought that at first too, but why would it focus on his hand touching the ground in a single panel if it's irrelevant?

i thought it was something at first too but i guess not. lol. he was gonna attack them so i expected something to happen but didnt. it wasnt a limbo clone, or a wood clone why would he use that? unless he knew sasuke could see the limbo anyway... hmm

Besides, it doesn't matter if there is some chance of Madara returning or not. He won'tbe the main villain anyway. He was finished with his plan, as he said himself. Then it was revealed he was just used and "his" plan was completely different from what he thought. So, there would be no point for him to return as a villain.

You could be right but at the same time Madara doesn't need to tap the ground to command his shadows. They are already him and as it was shown before, they attacked on their own without Madara doing anything.
