I just get the feeling that the aspect of having a favorite character is a bit overlooked.

You people have no empathy for others as you do not understand their sadness and do not seem to understand what literature is, as you see this as "only a manga", implying that it is something banal.

Through fiction we can have experiences that we had no chance to even dream about, and enrich ourselves with more than one view on a matter.

Literature, in our case manga, is more than something just for fun. We can relate to the characters, sympathize with them, learn from them, understand ourselves better and also perceive our own reality in a total different manner.

A character is an idea, a product of human imagination and creativity. They are exactly like us, a collection of traits, goals and beliefs, with only one particularity, they live in a fictional universe.

The character you like is an important "someone' for you, exactly like a friend or a family member.

He could be a character that had greatly influenced your life, who had helped you to face life challenges, contributed to your development as an individual and who knows how much he could have helped you by simply being written by an author.

If you want to understand the loss of an important character to you, try to think about the people who are close to you.

Like friends and family (the ones that were important for you of course); they were there for you, to help you, to spend time with you, to share with you their happiness, to support you in your difficult life moments.... Think at how grateful you are to them and how important they are for you. And then this Masashi Kishimoto comes and takes them away from you, destroying their lives and taking everything they had.

Try to imagine this happening to your close ones and maybe you can get a glimpse of what is to see your favorite character having taken what was rightfully his.

Either way, I am not sad nor angry, I actually rejoice thinking how Madara will come back and defeat Kaguya.

When people are talking about suicide because their character is gone then yes they are taking it too seriously.

Looks like your previous threads have been just a masquerade, no?

It appears you can type normally.

On-topic - Madara might come back, indeed. But he's gonna be on the good guys side, not as a villain.

I agree completely, but I never had the impetus to persuade people that they should try to understand rather to judge, whether in fiction or not. The thing I don't agree with is what you said about Madara- I prefer things to stay as they are, with Kaguya as the main villain.

Fictional characters aren't real and shouldn't be treated as such. They are tools for the author who uses them to build a story. There is a line between admiring a character like a work of art and turning into a crazy fanboy/girl type like those "X is MINE!!" types. I can say that some characters are important to me because I can relate to them and whatnot, but I never let fiction make me feel in any way like reality does, unless it's aesthetics.

Sure I can feel a bit sad about my fave dying or something, but to be honest I usually expect that and I don't really feel anything.
