or u think sage in his prime could defeat kaguya with his vast knowledge and experience

now, doing math:

TTH Hagoromo = 100 % Ten tails+ Shinjuu + his own power
Kaguya= above Ten tails + Shinjuu power + her own power

Considering that Hagoromo's own power > Kaguya's own power (before eating forbidden fruit)

we can guess they were close in power wether someone like it or no
