Everyone is all like this is a "delayed attack" WTF is a "delayed attack"?

It looks to be, IMO, he is using GT but instead of firing it wildly and intensely like he did before he is using it more conservatively with the same if not a greater punch to it than usual.

We should all know that when Ichigo used GT before it was a slash combined with his reiatsu that creates an expanding black wave.

Now with his more refined abilities he doesn't have to slash he can simply slice an area and release an immense Black Wave.

Lol you just described what we meant by delayed attack, that is what we were talking about classifying it as a delayed attack

Its a more controlled attack now. GT is an attack that absorbs his spirit power and releases it in a slash. Its the same principal except the slashes are very weak. They're very small slashes. The purpose is to show that Ichigo's power is beyond comparison. just using a small amount of power look at the scale and power of the attack. Now imagine him using a full powered slash.

i think that's his version of holding back, a full slash would release a lot more energy and be insanely more powerful. he didn't wish to overkill and used a very tiny slash here, i guess.

I don't think that he separate space, i just think that it's some Quincy ability.

His bigger sword represent his Shinigami's power (Real Zangetsu - Hollow Ichigo) and his smaller represent (Old Man Zangetsu - Bach from 1000 years ago). You can see something like that in this picture:

To Op questions I think he was already released and used Getsuga to block her attack so the first one was separating space but his last attack probably let a trail of energy hard to tell on manga panels.
