Hagaromo divided the Juubi (God Tree) into tailed beast and Gedo Mezou/Moon
(I don't think he created the moon but placed the Gedo Mezou on the moon and used his DNA as a key to summon the Gedo Mezou. Which explains why only those with the chakra of both Uchiha/Indra and Hashirama/ Ashura could summon it.Note I did not say Senju. All though the Senju are desendants of Ashura, he had to train to gain the powers equal to Indra who was born with it.He reincarnated into Hashi.)
Gedo was summoned by Madara=Indra after obtaining Hashi DNA into himself.
Madara used Gedo as a Battery to keep himself alive but Gedo (being the shell of the Juubi and the Juubi being the God tree and the God tree absorbing Kaguya) was using Madara like a parasite.Feeding Madara the concept of IT and allowing his ego to believe it was His plan. This chapter even mentioned that the white zetsu were people once that were caught in the IT. Remember this...
Madara uses his Will to create black half of Obito but it was Kaguya's Will all along.Just like Madara was using Obito to fulfill the IT when his life cycle had ended, Kaguya did the same to Madara through the Gedo. Obito was also able to hook up to the Gedo and summon it. He was also the only other shinobi influenced to fulfill IT. Orochimaru is known to be as evil but wanted no part in the plan. Thus leaving Akatsuki which was there ultimate goal.
The kicker is that Kaguya is also being used by the God Tree. The God tree that as the Juubi created all things. As the fruit gave Kaguya power and influenced her to create the IT . Which explains this...
