There are some similarities but some key differences that are very apparent. Vegeta was Toriyama's failed attempt at creating a rivalry between him and goku. Sasuke is kishimoto's successful result of creating the perfect rivalry between him and naruto. After the vegeta vs majin buu fight, he just became nothing but a fusion partner for goku. His character died afterwards. Currently sasuke is still level with naruto plus undergoing more character development. I wish Toriyama put more effort into vegeta like kishimoto did with sasuke but that's the way these mangaka decided to go about things.
