Unfortuantely, Sasuke and Naruto are not the reincarnations of Indra and Ashura. You will see why in the next few chapters. The alleged name of the second brother; Hamura - was brought up for a reason. Naruto and Sasuke were deliberately foreshadowed to be the reincarnations of Hagoromo and Hamura. If you look closely at the chapter where Hagoromo emerged in Naruto's consciousness, and Sasuke's consciousness was only shown in the end is because there was a reason to it. If you look closely, you'll understand it.

In the latest chapter, we see Kaguya misconceptions the reincarnations and powers given to Sasuke and Naruto. It wasn't coincidental. What also wasn't a plain superimposition was that the second brothers name was brought up and introduced for the first time. Kishi is trying to tell us that there's a strong similarity and resemblance between the two brothers and Sasuke and Naruto. Essentially, the story of the two brothers was introduced and foreshadowed to us during the last couple of chapters, if you look attentively.

Hagoromo was actually a bad person, unlike his brother, who was seeking for peace. Hagoromo's strong greed for power was the reason why Hamura sacrificed his life, whilst Hagoromo wanted the beast inside of him. Which is basically the ten tails. When Hagoromo fell into despair, after loosing a brother - He changed and promised that he'll change the world and teach ninshuu. This is where Sasuke and Naruto come in. This is exactly how their fight is going to end. There's a lot of irony in the series of Naruto. It's a universe where prophecies do exist, and history is repeating itself, until the right path will be chosen. This is why Sasuke and Naruto are the antagonists of the series. They will make the change.

In order to redeem for his actions, Hagormo has given his power to the reincarnation of Hamura, which is Naruto. Hamura's background story will be introduced to us, and he will be introduced to us as a good person who has done everything that at his disposal to save his brother from falling to darkness. This is exactly what happened to Sasuke and Naruto. Madara and Hashirama. Ashura and Indra. Naruto and Sasuke will stop the cycle of hatred, and will be the first ones to choose the right path, unlike their predecessors. There's a reason why Sasuke was shown to be an arrogant and brash person in the last few chapters, considering his team-mates to be nothing compared to him.

There's a lot of reasons as to why Hagoromo has considered them both to be the actual reincarnations of Indra and Ashura. Sasuke and Naruto shared a lot of similiar traits with Indra and Ashura. It does matter what you see. Influence and persuasion would work if we were just talking about words here, but through Hagoromo's POV, we clearly saw Ashura's chakra inside of Naruto. Naruto confirmed that he was right and confirmed once again that Sasuke had Indra's chakra, as he felt it. So you can say that Hagoromo may be just lying to them, but Naruto's word is legit.

Oh, and yeah, you saw Ashura inside of Naruto through Hagoromo's eyes, not through Naruto's. The whole scenario of Hagoromo and Naruto was shown to be through Hagoromo's POV.
