When Obito become the host his hair turned white. According to Naruto, Obito did not perform the reviving jutsu from the start, so his hair was not while from the same cause Nagato's was.

Obito's hair turned while because he become the host.

Madara's hair most likely did the same, and gained the red color only after absorbing the tree.

After absorbing the tree, Madara gained Kaguya's third eye and more similar clothes.

This leads us to conclude that Madara's red hair is also a Kaguya trait.

I think white would look best but it's probably that pink looking color like Madara/Hagoromo. Someone rich needs to just fund for Naruto chapters to be published in full color every week.
