Here's my take on it:

We all know that the dojutsu kekkai genkais Byakugan, rinnegan and sharingan come from Kaguya.

We also know that all the elementla kekkai genkais ice style, magma style, wood style, storm style etc all come from the juubi.

The only non-dojutsu and non-elemnetal kekkai genkai ever introduced in the entire series is Kimimaru's Bone "style" so to say. So in order for kishi to connect this one last kekkai genkai to Kaguya as well, he has all these similarities between Kaguya and kimimaru.

The horns of Kaguya may very well be bones to begin with.
