She does in some ways, all through out Part 1 and Part 2 Sakura had to watch from the sidelines.Even now with the Yin Seal and Byakugou Sakura once again is forced on the sidelines since only Sasuke and Naruto are the only ones strong enough to deal with Madara/Kaguya.

She never grew as a character sadly.

Correction. She's not wrapped up in IT so she is not sidelined. Kishimoto has who he has out on the field for a reason. If he wanted to forget about her for now she would be or will be put in it but as long as she is not she is relevant or at least more relevant than others.

And you just mentioned power ups to character growth. The strength of the opponent does not change her power level as she grew as a character all around, the opponents are just strong. So I don't see the sense in your reply

No matter anyone says, its not. The amount of Sakura threads created on a daily basis is ridiculous, the amount of pages these threads get is even more ridiculous.

No other character by themselves gets 10 pages + for each of their threads.

Which leads me to my next point.

If Sakura is so useless, so irrelevant, so fodder then why exactly is everyone always talking about her?

Sure if she is your favorite character it only makes sense but what doesnt make sense is when the haters are always talking about her.

Its ridiculous that you say she is irrelevant but are always talking about her. Its just sad.

Seriously if she is so irrelevant then there shouldnt be 10 different threads about her. If she is so irrelevant then these threads shouldnt have 10 pages to discuss about her.

:snick: Oh the irony, your thread just became like the ones you hate.

"Haters gonna hate and Trolls gonna troll". There is nothing you can do about it expect starve 'em

I dislike her because she is one of main characters. And Kishi's biggest weakness is writing interesting female characters. From the start she was basically pointless and weak, but that would be ok if she was done right. She is the kind of a character that Naruto is - starting from weak to badass, (Kyubi chakra aside). But she had literally no interesting feats since Sasuke left the village. She had no presence aside from her obsession with Sasuke. She was meant to be an inteligent student, but didnt act like one. She was just irrelevant to the story.

In Naruto Shippuden it started nicely, with Sasori fight. Aaaaaand it went back to normal just when the fight ended. She is one of the main characters, yet the story could remain the same without her with just one exception. Mostly she is just a nuisance.

Right now, if she would finally get some kind of power up, catch up with the rest of team 7 and actually influence the outcome of events just this once, she as a character would be saved.

And to those who say "but she saved Naruto's life", well, being a get-out-of-jail-free-card is no good for a main character.

EDIT:Saving main character's life through battle or a twist of events is not the same as healing

I'm gonna quote one of my friends from another forum site.

I get the feeling Sakura is so hated because she's so realistic compared to the rest of the cast.

Readers see themselves in her, and they hate themselves. Nobody wants to be an average girl that has to work for her powerups in a world where every other character is godzilla or a god.

Naruto is one of those fandoms that attracts a lot of self-loathing people. Because of that I sincerely doubt the mass hatred Sakura has accumulated will ever really subside.

The best you can do is sit back and laugh at them while they sit in their puddles of hatred and sing praises of flat one-dimensional characters that fulfill their need for a self insert.

Lee is an average guy that has to work for himself. Yet he is a very likeable character.

EDIT:How is Sakura a multi-dimensional character?

Well please tell your friend that people who have a genuine and mostly mature dislike for Sakura doesnt dislike her for her poweress or what she had to go through to get her so called power ups .... or the majority of the K11 would have been disliked.

My point is that Sakura has shown little growth as a character either emotionally, mentally,or phyisically. She's still the same girl who turns to Sasuke and Naruto for when things get tough. And like I said I hope Sakura gets to contribute in the final battle but that's doubtful since even Sasuke told her she's useless in the current situation.

Conpared to her team mates Sakura has the least character development of them all.

Then explain how Sakura is not a multi-dimensional character.

Please tell your friend that she is not the most realistic character and that real girls don't like a guy who tried to kill them twice. :|

You forgot to end 'in my opinion' js

Sakura has grown alot more than people realise you can check chatte if you care to be persuaded because im not that type too much effort.

And again she has not turned to naruto or sasuke for help in this war if you dont mind showing me. All i saw was team work and they been covering her i have not seen her ask for help. It's what a team does. Last time she asked for help was when sasuke left.

also last time i checked Sasuke doesn't know anything past what he thinks. kishi has shown her reflecting on what happened in 631 and then sasuke said that it's build up.

I already touched on her having the least but that does not change that it is alot. They just have more :x I don't see a problem especially since they have a bigger plot tie.

@Bold: If u read Mario, u would see that you are mistaken. Which makes me kinda think that Sakura was never planned properly by Kishi ..... might have been just the editor's addition (For example her Spunky attitude was not planned at first) .... and so never quite fin it.

Then explain how Sakura is not a multi-dimensional character.

Sasuke. Changes as the series go on, from a kid to avenger, from avenger to ruthless villain, from villain to person he is today. Lots of revelations, changes of his behavior, all his actions show character depth.

Naruto. From painting Hokage's faces to hero. Enough said.

Tsunade. A gambler with drinking problem, badass hokage, scholar, warrior, but also someone who experienced a lot of pain.

Jiraya. Pervert, badass warrior, great teacher, good man. He wrote several bestsellers.

Itachi. Do I really need to explain him? How he made choices, how he was forsaken by his own village, but still held the village dear? And how he loved his brother?

Just to name a few.

Now tell me how Sakura is anyhow comparable to them. How she influenced the plot, how many touching moments she had, what is her background itp.

Hell, we hardly know her parents.

Maybe. Still doesnt explain how she let her stay in her state for whole series. Even if a child was unplanned, you are not allowed to neglect it just like that.

This pretty much sums up her character. If people didnt realise how much he had grown, whats the point in her growing? Maybe it wasnt shown properly, no?

Unfortunately if you never heard this in your life. There's no choice how you come into this world either or NV i should say.

She's young she will earn her reputation. Itachi, Tsunade and Jiraya are dumb comparisons as they are older and already earned their hype and reputation she has yet to do so as a matter of fact this is her first war. You should know that.

Sasuke is known as a criminal and murderer... and up to current naruto is the guy that saved leaf and well hes fighting the war. They are the boys they clean up.
