nope hendrix is better
Voodoo Child > your fav

lol you said that like hes already not high on my list.

Where is Slash? Where is Steve Stevens? Where is Eddie Van Halen? :|
Well i would have added them if this was about skill. this is just my top ten as far as what melodic phrases and styles they use. a top ten skills list would have taken all day. and van halen would have definitely been top 5

Most overrated guitarist of all time

I disagree. he is the one who innovated by using feedback to his advantage. he literally changed the direction guitar was going single handedly. Though there are better guitarists than him, he paved the way for modern rock as we know it today

Yeah thats a lame excuse. Doing something first, doesn't make you worthy of being mentioned with the best technical guitarists

It does when most bands are using your technique that you invented..inventing a technique is alot harder than learning something that has already been perfected. but to each their own

Love everyone automatically gearing towards rock / metal and totally disregarding The great jazz
guitarists

This is just my list according to my favorites. I would have added people like tosin abasi, ben frisell, wes montgomery ect. but this is geared towards my favorites. im not saying this is a list on the best guitarists, just my top ten favorites to listen to.

I did'nt add blues artists either. Im suprised you did'nt ask me about things like that aswell

Jimmy Page
David Gilmour
Alex Lifeson
Angus Young
Mark Knophler
Slash
Carlos Santana
Pete Townshend
Brian May
Ritchie Blackmore
Keith Richards
Kirk Hammet

Maybe I added more than 10. >_> And don't ask me to put them in order. Certainly I like to listen some of them more but it's just too hard to categorize them like that...

Edit: Hell! Love Gilmour! <3

(In no particular order)

Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Mark Tremonti, Myles Kennedy (underrated), Synyster Gates, Buddy Guy, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Tom Scholz, Slash, Duane Allman, and of course myself as a close 11th =D

Note these are my favorites, not necessarily the best (though I stand fast by my contention that Jimi Hendrix and SRV are a solid 1a. and 1b.) There are many more I love as well

Overrated?
lol jog on son. One of the most influential guitarists ever.

And since when did technicality matter? If it did, then Yngwie's records would sound cohesive. Gimme someone with more soul like Hendrix or Cantrell over shred wank.

jerry fxcking cantrell
but yeah If you want to talk soul, then huge amounts of Jazz/ samba/ bossa nova Guitarists would have to be brought into consideration. People hear guitar and automatically think Metal.
