Good point. However, they were in different situations. Hashirama only had to worry about defeating his opponent whereas Minato had to focus on saving his son as well as the village and protecting the future. Simply defeating the Kyubi wasn't on his mind at that time.

I do agree that Hashirama in terms of battle scale is superior though. Well anyone who as a freaking battle avatar is superior on a large scale battle.
